2024 Grade 11 Selection Lists for Highlands Region Secondary Schools (OUT NOW)

The 2024 Grade 11 selection lists for the HIGHLANDS Region have not yet been released. However, you can download the PDF of the Grade 11 selection lists for all the schools in the HIGHLANDS Region at the Education Department Website (www.education.gov.pg) once it is released. 

The Grade 10 exam results came out on the 8th of December 2023. PNG Insight understands that the secondary schools and national school of excellence selections are in progress in the provinces (Jiwaka, Simbu, Eastern Highlands, Western Highlands, Southern Highlands, Hela and Enga) and in Port Moresby, respectively.

• Update#4: 14.12.2023: Some Secondary School principals have released the Grade 11 selection list 2024 on their Notice Boards. Some lists are doing rounds on Social Media, too. That's fine, but make sure that those selection lists are OFFICIALLY SIGNED by the Education Secretary. If the secretary's signature is not on the lists (and dated), regard it as an UNOFFICIAL list.

2024 Grade 11 selections list for HIGHLANDS Region

The 2024 Grade 11 selections list for HIGHLANDS Region is the listing of the 2023 Grade 10 Students who are selected to the secondary schools in the following provinces:

• Jiwaka
• Simbu
• Eastern Highlands
• Western Highlands
• Southern Highlands
• Hela
• Enga

In 2021, the Education Department released the final Grade 11 Selection Lists for 2022 two weeks after the Selection Committee finalized the selection process. However, in 2022, the selection list was released earlier on December 19th, due to the decision to conduct the selection process in the provinces instead of travelling to Port Moresby. This streamlined the process and allowed for faster dissemination of the Grade 11 selection lists.

The selection committee in each province entered the selection data online, and the final lists were submitted to Port Moresby for confirmation and publication. This year, the selection process will be conducted entirely online, further streamlining the process and ensuring timely release of the selection lists. How to Get ECZ Results 2023 e-Statement of results for Grade 7 Grade 9 and Grade 12

Find the right information about the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) examination results for Grades 7, 9 and 12. 

The info is in two parts: How to Get an e-Statement of Result; and How to Check Grade 7, 9 and 12 ECZ Results.

Download ECZ e-statement of results 2023 online

Note that it is important to have your ECZ candidate login details at hand because you will need them to access the result portal. Here is how to get the e-statement of results from the ECZ website. [More details for Grade 7, 9 and 12 students can be found in this article too, read on]

1. Visit: Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ)
2. Click on the 4th link which reads “e-Statement of Results” on the list of links available on the portal
3. Click on “CANDIDATE SIGN IN”
4. Select the level you want to check the results for in the select box example, Grade 9 or GCE
5. Then hit “CONTINUE”
6. Enter the correct “EXAMINATION NUMBER” and click on “CONTINUE”. Your result will display, showing all the details of the candidate.
7. Click on “ELECTRONIC STATEMENT OF RESULTS” to view, download and print the PDF file.

Check Grade 7 and Grade 9, Grade 12 ECZ results via SMS

Transcripts of results are to be collected from the EXAMS CENTRES of candidates not from the  Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ), nor the Ministry of Education.

Here is how to check the results using your phone.

How to check the results in 5 steps

1. You open the new message pad on your Mobile Phone
2. Type the full Examination Number (Leave Space)
3. Type the Examination Year (Leave Space)
4. Type the Examination Grade and
5. Send to 8383

The checking of results is available to all networks with a service charge.

Grade 7 and 9 ECZ results 2023

Many students and parents are asking when the 2023 ECZ Grade 7 and 9 results are coming out.

In a response to this question on Facebook a week ago (see screenshot), the Examination Council of Zambia said they'll inform the public soon. However, a definite date has yet to be announced.

The best thing to do is to check the ECZ website for the latest updates and the latest on Grade 7 and 9 exam results for 2023.

Exam process must complete before results come out

From the outset, two events must take place before the exam results come out. That means that the ECZ has to finalise examination results before the Ministry of General Education officially releases the results.

Marking and processing of marks are delicate work and have to be handled with care and due diligence.

Here is what is likely to happen before the 2023 Grade 12 results are released to the public:

• Making of the Grade 12 Examinations (in progress, done by markers)
• Processing of examination marks and students' school data (pending, done by ECZ)
• An announcement that Grade 12 results are ready (pending, done by govt/education minister)
• Release of Grade 12 results (after the announcement, done by ECZ)
• Access Grade 12, 9 and 7 results (by students)

The process needs to be followed thoroughly before the final results are released online for students to access.

Examination Council of Zambia Online Services

This year (2023), ECZ has said that it is gradually moving towards getting some of its services online. Some of the examination and certification online services include:

• institutional verification of results,
• candidate registration,
• online payment for exams, and
• e-statements among others.

ECZ result dates from 2016 to 2020

Here are the dates when ECZ results came out between 2016 and 2019. Knowing these dates will give you an idea about when the results are likely to come out this year.

Between 2016 and 2018,  the examination results have been released in the last week of December, according to the table. We can infer that the ECZ results to come out in January 2023.

Meanwhile, the best thing to do, now, is to wait and get an OFFICIAL announcement from the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) and the Ministry of General Education.

We recommend checking the ECZ website for the latest news and updates on when the Grade 7 and 9 examination results are going to be released to you.

2024 Grade 11 Selection List PDF Download or Login

This post provides an update on the current situation regarding the selection of students for Grade 11 in high and secondary schools for the 2024 academic year. The Department of Education has not yet released the selection list in PDF format on its website.

A login portal on the Department of Education's website suggests that students will be able to log in using passwords to check their Grade 11 selection status. However, this method has not been used since 2020, when the selection list was published in PDF files.

Information regarding the 2023 Grade 11 selection process for the 2024 academic year is currently limited. If there are no further developments, it is likely that the selection list for Grade 11 students will follow the previous pattern and be published in PDF format.

Grade 11 Selection updates

As predicted in our previous post, the Grade 11 Selection Lists for all Regions and National High Schools were released on time last year. The lists became available two weeks after the Grade 11 Selection Committee concluded their selection process.

Please be aware that the education department website was experiencing slow loading times due to a high volume of traffic. This can be frustrating, so please be patient while accessing the website.

Last year and the previous years, the Grade 11 selection lists were published in PDF form. The lists were arranged in regions, shown below.

There was no need to log in or anything. You just download the PDF file and search for your name, like what we showed our readers earlier here. 

Official Release Date of 2024 Grade 11 Selection

The official announcement of the date for the release of the Grade 11 selection will be made by the education secretary, so keep an eye out for it. PNG Insight will also let you know as soon as we get the date. 

Usually, the Grade 11 Selection List PDF list for each region comes out 2 weeks after the examination committee has made the selections.

Check around mid-December for the release of the selection listing.

The listing was not released officially by the Education Department at the time of this article. 

Meanwhile, we wait patiently for the official release of the Grade 11 selection list for 2022.

Grade 11 Selection Login 

A new menu for *Grade 11 selection* appears on the education department website. There is no instruction about how students, parents and citizens will log in. 

We can only infer that it will be the same step (for login) as the Grade 10 online selection where a student uses:

• Surname,
• Given-name, and
• School Leaver's Number

We are NOT clear about how the login works. So, stay in tune or check out the education department's website for FULL DETAILS. As mentioned, we will let you know if/when we know what is happening.

If the Education Secretary nominates a due date, it is ONLY right that the divisions/sections responsible for facilitating the release of Grade 11 national selection MUST (and should) meet the deadline. No excuses!
