What Time Are Junior Cert Results Out

The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has confirmed that the Ireland Junior Cert results for 2023 will be released on Wednesday, 18 October 2023. Results will be available from schools from 9am on that date, and can also be accessed online from 4pm.

How to access Junior Cert results

There are two ways to access your Junior Cert results:

From your school:

Your school will receive your results on 18 October and will make them available to you from 9am. You may be able to collect your results in person, or you may be able to view them online through the school's website.

Online (https://www.examinations.ie):

You can also access your results online from 4pm on 18 October. To do this, you will need your examination number and PIN number.

How to appeal your Junior Cert results

If you are not happy with your Junior Cert results, you can appeal them. To do this, you should apply through your school. The SEC will confirm if there is any appeal fee in 2023.

The Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA) fully replaced the Junior Certificate in 2022. It adds a classroom-based assessment to the exam which is based on work completed by the student during second and third year.

Junior Cycle exam fee: There will be no fee for the Junior Cycle exam in 2024.


How to Get Previous Years' Results

To get a certified statement of examination, you can either apply in writing or use the application form. You must provide the following personal details:

  •     Full name
  •     Name at the time of the examination (if different)
  •     Current address
  •     Daytime phone number
  •     Date of birth
  •     Year of examination
  •     Name and address of school attended
  •     Examination number (if known)
