Types of EOC Assessments

The EOC assessments are computer-based, criterion-referenced assessments that measure the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards, Florida Standards, or the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards (NGSSS) for specific courses.

Students completing Algebra 1 or Geometry courses in 2022-23 and beyond will take the B.E.S.T. EOC assessment.

The FSA Algebra 1 EOC Retake will continue to be administered until students for whom it is a graduation requirement have completed four years of high school.

The science and social studies NGSSS EOC assessments, including Biology 1, Civics, and U.S. History, will continue to be administered for students completing the applicable courses.

Understanding the EOC Assessments

For those interested in learning more about the content of the EOC assessments, you can review the standards for the subject area (B.E.S.T., NGSSS, or Florida Standards) and the description of the course for which the EOC assessment is required.

These assessments measure student achievement of Florida's academic standards as outlined in the course descriptions, providing a basis for the content that will be measured on each EOC assessment.

New Scale for 2024-2025 and Beyond

It is essential to note that the 2024 EOC results are based on provisional achievement level cuts, linked to the respective 2021-2022 reporting scale, as required by Florida Statutes.

Therefore, comparisons should not be made between the 2024 data and previous years' data. For 2024-2025 and beyond, scores will be reported on a new scale after the State Board of Education adopts new student achievement levels in fall 2024.

When Do Florida EOC Scores Come Out 2024

The release dates for the Florida End-of-Course (EOC) assessment scores in 2024 vary depending on the subject and testing period. Generally, results for Science and Social Studies assessments are reported within 24 hours of student testing. For other subjects, the scores are typically released a few weeks after the testing window closes.

Students, parents, and educators will be able to access the results on the Florida Department of Education website.

These EOC assessments play a crucial role in measuring student achievement of the state's academic standards, and they provide valuable insights into student performance and progress.

Once the scores are available, students and educators can use them to identify strengths and areas for improvement, helping to enhance educational outcomes in Florida.
