PNG Written Expression Papers and Dates

The Grade 10 and 12 students do their Written Expression Examination (WEX) every year in June and August, respectively.

The Written Expression Examination for this year is as follows:

  • Grade 10 Written Expression Examination is on the 2nd of June 2022 and
  • Grade 12 Written Expression Examination is on the 1st of August 2022.
  • See the national exam dates for Grade 8, 10 and 12
png grade 10 written expression exam papers

Where to get the Written Expression Exam Papers?

The WEX past exam papers are available in schools. You will have used the past year's paper in your Mock Exam.

So, in preparations for your Grade 10 (or Grade 12) WEX papers (which is your first proper national examination), you should ask your English and Literature teacher for a copy.

This will help you familiarise yourself with the type of reading materials (scripts)  and format that you are likely to come across in the real exam.

Who sets the Written Expression Examinations?

The Department of Education, though the Measurement Services Division, sets the WEX for Grade 10.

The Grade 12 WEX is set by an external (English and Literature) subject expert from the University of Goroka.

The Education department depends on provincial education officials and schools to conduct the examinations.

Students have been encouraged to give their best in honesty and let their talents shine through.

How do markers mark the Written Expression?

Selected English teachers mark the Grade 10 written expression exam papers in each province. On completion, the provincial examination officer in the province sends the marks to the MSD office in Port Moresby.

As for the Grade 12 WEX, the MSD selects English and Literature teachers from each province as markers. The markers go to Port Moresby for a week to mark the WEX papers.

They mark the WEX papers in regional groups - Southern, Momase, New Guinea Islands and Highlands.

It is an intensive marking where the papers undergo several checks before the final marks are awarded to each script.

Grade 10 & 12 Written Expression concerns

Provincial authorities and schools have the duty to run a fair and cheat-free written expression examination.

The education department often encouraged local education authorities to be vigilant and security conscious from the storage in school to the actual completion of the Examination.

To ensure the smooth running of the examination, the Head Teachers, Principals and Deputies are advised to remain within the school campus during the conduct of all Examinations.

However, many principals, headteachers and deputies tend to leave the school grounds on exam days.

Who ensures cheat-free exams in PNG?

The following provincial education officials and school heads are responsible for a cheat-free and fair Grade 10 and Grade 12 written expression examination, nationwide.

  • Provincial Education Advisers,
  • Provincial Examination Supervisors,
  • Senior Secondary Schools’ Inspectors,
  • Guidance Officers,
  • Principals of Secondary Schools
  • Head Teachers of all Provincial High Schools.

For the Grade 10 and Grade 12 students sitting the National Written Expression Examinations this year, we wish you 'all the best!'

What to do with the Grade 10 exam results 2022 pdf?

There are two important things you should do when you ever access your results.

The first thing is to download the PNG grade 10 exam results 2022 pdf of your Grade 10 or Grade 12 exam results.

You must have a copy of your exam results on your phone or on your computer all the time.

Avoid taking screenshots because it will do you no good. Show the PDF to your parents, teachers and principal. Even, go ahead and get the principal to sign and stamp the results.

This is the result that the Grade 11 selections and tertiary schools selections are based on - if you do that, you have grounds to stand on when things go wrong.

The second thing is to ensure that you change your password. Change it to a more secure password that only you can remember. Do not share your password details or even your marks with your friends

What to do if you STILL cannot access MyPNGExamResults.com website?

In a case where you cannot log in, try to interchange your surname and given name, and check your SLF number. If you have three names and have problems, try several combinations before seeking help.

If you are really stuck, one way is to go back to your school and confirm your password by checking your SLF number with your teachers or the deputy principal and the principal of your school.

Ask them to try the combination of your password and your username. After all the attempts, if you still cannot access your results, the teachers at your school, the deputy principal or the principal will have to call MSD (Measurement Services Division) and fix your problem.

We also compiled some information about Grade 10 and 12 selection that you will find useful, check it out.

CFA Exam Results and Pass Rates

You will receive a result of "pass" or "fail" along with information on your topic-level performance. Candidates who pass Level III will not receive detailed results.)

Candidates can use the CFA Institute exam performance guide to help them interpret their result reports.

CFA Institute will notify you when your official exam results are available. After candidates receive their CFA exam results, they may register for the next exam.

CFA encourages candidates who do not pass to use the exam result information to guide their studies and to re-take the exam at a later date.

Candidates can take as much time as they need before registering for the next exam.

2022 FCA Exam Results and pass rates

CFA Exam Results Date

The results for the CFA Level I and II exams are available within 60 days of the exam date and within 90 days for the CFA Level III exam.

Individual candidate results are released only to the candidate and are never released to a third party; however, lists of passing candidates are provided to societies for membership purposes.

Detailed exam scores and responses to exam questions are measurement information and part of a candidate's test record, both of which are owned solely by CFA Institute. This information is not given to candidates.

CFA Exam Results

Exam results are expected to be available approximately 8-10 weeks after the close of an exam window for Level I/Level II, and approximately 10 weeks for Level III.

After all testing is completed and the exam window closes, CFA Institute begins conducting a thorough analysis of exam questions/candidate performance to identify the minimum passing score (MPS) that represents basic competence in the subject matter.

For Level III grading, hundreds of CFA charterholders will participate in an essay grading event. The Board of Governors will then convene to approve the MPS. Rigorous quality control processes and data quality review steps are completed to ensure results are presented accurately to all tested candidates.

Candidates will receive periodic messages to keep them updated on the progress of exam results, and additional information will be published to this page as it becomes available.

CFA Exam Minimum Passing Score

After each exam administration, the CFA Institute Board of Governors sets the minimum passing score (MPS) for each level.

The purpose for this approach is to ensure fairness to candidates across administrations as the difficulty of each test is taken into account when setting the MPS. CFA Institute does not release the MPS or individual candidate scores.

*Exam results are available for approximately one year after the test date. After this date, candidates may prove their status with CFA Program by generating and downloading a verification letter from the Verification Letter section in their Account Profile.

The verification letter will confirm a “pass” or “fail” exam result, but the topic area performance summary will not be available.

Exam process must complete before results come out

From the outset, two events must take place before the exam results come out. That means that the ECZ has to finalise examination results before the Ministry of General Education officially releases the results.

Marking and processing of marks are delicate work and have to be handled with care and due diligence.

Here is what is likely to happen before the 2023 Grade 12 results are released to the public:

  • Making of the Grade 12 Examinations (in progress, done by markers)
  • Processing of examination marks and students' school data (pending, done by ECZ)
  • An announcement that Grade 12 results are ready (pending, done by govt/education minister)
  • Release of Grade 12 results (after the announcement, done by ECZ)
  • Access Grade 12, 9 and 7 results (by students)

The process needs to be followed thoroughly before the final results are released online for students to access.
