How to Get ECZ Results 2024 e-Statement of results for Grade 7 Grade 9 and Grade 12

Find the right information about the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) examination results for Grades 7, 9 and 12. 

The info is in two parts: How to Get an e-Statement of Result; and How to Check Grade 7, 9 and 12 ECZ Results.

Download ECZ e-statement of results 2024 online

Note that it is important to have your ECZ candidate login details at hand because you will need them to access the result portal. Here is how to get the e-statement of results from the ECZ website. [More details for Grade 7, 9 and 12 students can be found in this article too, read on]

1. Visit: Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ)
2. Click on the 4th link which reads “e-Statement of Results” on the list of links available on the portal
3. Click on “CANDIDATE SIGN IN”
4. Select the level you want to check the results for in the select box example, Grade 9 or GCE
5. Then hit “CONTINUE”
6. Enter the correct “EXAMINATION NUMBER” and click on “CONTINUE”. Your result will display, showing all the details of the candidate.
7. Click on “ELECTRONIC STATEMENT OF RESULTS” to view, download and print the PDF file.

Check Grade 7 and Grade 9, Grade 12 ECZ results via SMS

Transcripts of results are to be collected from the EXAMS CENTRES of candidates not from the  Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ), nor the Ministry of Education.

Here is how to check the results using your phone.

How to check the results in 5 steps

1. You open the new message pad on your Mobile Phone
2. Type the full Examination Number (Leave Space)
3. Type the Examination Year (Leave Space)
4. Type the Examination Grade and
5. Send to 8383

The checking of results is available to all networks with a service charge.

Grade 7 and 9 ECZ results 2024

Many students and parents are asking when the 2024 ECZ Grade 7 and 9 results are coming out.

In a response to this question on Facebook a week ago (see screenshot), the Examination Council of Zambia said they'll inform the public soon. However, a definite date has yet to be announced.

The best thing to do is to check the ECZ website for the latest updates and the latest on Grade 7 and 9 exam results for 2024.

Exam process must complete before results come out

From the outset, two events must take place before the exam results come out. That means that the ECZ has to finalise examination results before the Ministry of General Education officially releases the results.

Marking and processing of marks are delicate work and have to be handled with care and due diligence.

Here is what is likely to happen before the 2024 Grade 12 results are released to the public:

• Making of the Grade 12 Examinations (in progress, done by markers)
• Processing of examination marks and students' school data (pending, done by ECZ)
• An announcement that Grade 12 results are ready (pending, done by govt/education minister)
• Release of Grade 12 results (after the announcement, done by ECZ)
• Access Grade 12, 9 and 7 results (by students)

The process needs to be followed thoroughly before the final results are released online for students to access.

Examination Council of Zambia Online Services

This year (2024), ECZ has said that it is gradually moving towards getting some of its services online. Some of the examination and certification online services include:

• institutional verification of results,
• candidate registration,
• online payment for exams, and
• e-statements among others.

ECZ result dates from 2016 to 2020

Here are the dates when ECZ results came out between 2016 and 2019. Knowing these dates will give you an idea about when the results are likely to come out this year.

Between 2016 and 2018,  the examination results have been released in the last week of December, according to the table. We can infer that the ECZ results to come out in January 2024.

Meanwhile, the best thing to do, now, is to wait and get an OFFICIAL announcement from the Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) and the Ministry of General Education.
