2024 CSSPS School Selection Form Guide

The CSSPS (Computerized School Selection and Placement System) School Selection Form is the tool that students and parents use to officially choose their preferred schools and programs. It's a critical document in the school selection process, and it must be completed accurately and submitted within the specified timeframe.

The form typically includes sections where candidates can list their choices of schools, indicate their preferred programs (such as Arts, Science, or TVET), and select their accommodation type (day or boarding).

Consult with school authorities, parents, or guardians while filling out this form to ensure that choices align with the candidate's academic goals and geographical preferences.

And, importantly, before proceeding with the selection of schools and programs in these schools, it's essential for parents, guardians, and members of the public to be aware that all schools selected as choices (from 1st to 6th) are considered in the placement of candidates.  Therefore, the decision-making process should be deliberate and well-informed.

Facts and Information for Parents and Students

By understanding the guidelines, using the CSSPS School Selection Form, reviewing the SHS School Selection List 2024 PDF, and considering the categories of schools, students can make well-informed choices.

  • Parental Involvement: Parents and guardians play a crucial role in guiding students through the school selection process. They should provide guidance based on the student's academic strengths and aspirations.
  • Public Equity: The 30 percent public equity rule ensures that candidates from public basic schools have a fair chance of accessing Category A schools.
  • Program Considerations: Students should carefully consider their academic interests and career aspirations when selecting programs in schools. It's an opportunity to align education with future goals.
  • Research and Consultation: Before making choices, it's advisable to research schools, review the school selection lists, and consult with school authorities for insights into the strengths of each institution.
  • Backup Choices: Considering the competitive nature of the selection process, having backup choices in Category C and Category D is a prudent strategy.
