The University of Goroka (UOG) has recently released the non-school leavers acceptance list 2024. The list has the names of the undergraduate and postgraduate students who successfully gained admission for the academic year 2024. Prospecting students to the UOG-Goroka campus, UOG-Enga and UOG-Sepik Campuses can now check their names.

The UOG acceptance list for 2024 appeared in the Post Courier on the 16th of January 2024. Students can also access it on the official University of Goroka website, www.unigoroka.ac.pg. Acceptance Letters and Next Steps

Acceptance letters for the selected non-school leavers will be dispatched on time, offering them a formal acknowledgement of their admission. School Fee Payments

For smooth registration, it is essential for all students, including successful non-school leavers, to settle outstanding 2023 tuition fees along with the COMPULSORY FEE Component for 2024.

 The University of Goroka (UOG) has announced the 2023/2024 graduation dates for the Wabag Campus, Wabag Teachers College, Sepik Campus and UOG Goroka Campus.

University of Goroka Graduation Dates for 2023 and 2024

UOG-Sepik Campus, UOG-Enga Campus & Enga Teachers College will have a joint graduation ceremony as follows:

  • UOG-Sepik Campus: Monday, 11th December 2023 (Bainyik Campus, Maprik, East Sepik Province)
  • UOG-Enga Campus & Enga Teachers College: Tuesday, 19th December 2023 (Wabag Primary School, Enga Province)


As for the UOG  Goroka Campus 27th Graduation, there will be two graduation ceremonies:

  • Education Cohort: Tuesday, 30th January 2024
  • Content Cohort: Wednesday, 31st January 2024


Important Information for Graduating Students

According to the Post Courier advertisement (11/12/2023), the official UOG 27th Graduation List will be available on the University website (www.unigoroka.ac.pg) after 12th December 2023.

Graduating students with outstanding fees are still eligible to participate in the ceremony. However, they will not receive their Testamurs until all financial obligations are settled.

All graduating students are required to arrive on campus two days before their respective ceremony dates.

 Application Forms for the University of Goroka in 2024

Excluded Students must submit a show cause letter stating why they think they will do better if re-admitted, as well as names and addresses of two referees. They must also explain what they have been doing since leaving campus.

Withdrawn Students who withdrew on medical grounds must submit a medical certificate from a doctor to certify that they are now medically fit to continue their studies. Students who withdrew due to family reasons must submit a re-assurance letter from their family stating that they can now continue their studies. Both groups of students must also provide names and addresses of two referees.

Important:

  • Emailed or faxed applications will not be considered.
  • Applications without a show cause letter will not be considered.
  • All required information in the application form must be filled in order for your application to be considered.

Re-enrollment Application Fee

The non-refundable re-enrolment application processing fee is K 50.00. You are to pay this into BSP Goroka Branch Account No. 1000751407 and attach the receipt of your payment with your name and program applying for clearly written on it. 

Applications without this fee will not be processed.

You must confirm the bank details with UoG before making the deposit of payment.

Entry Requirements Enga and Sepik Campus

This program is a four-semester program designed for applicants who have:

  • a diploma or higher qualification in business studies from a recognized institution, 
  • at least two years of work experience after diploma qualification, and 
  • a minimum GPA of 2.5 obtained from prior diploma qualification attained.

Applicants who do not have grade 11 and 12 education must matriculate and have attained a minimum of B and C grades before they apply.


Bachelor of Technical Vocational Education and Training (BTVET) - Technical (In-service-Content)

This program is a four-semester program designed for applicants who have:

  • a diploma in any engineering field from a recognized institution, 
  • completed four years of apprenticeship training, and 
  • acquired NATTB Tradesman Certificate in relevant technical trades. 
Applicants must have at least 2 years of work experience after apprenticeship training or an engineering diploma and produce at least two references (character/professional). 

A minimum GPA of 2.5 obtained from a prior diploma or the last qualification attained is required. Those who do not have grade 11 and 12 education must matriculate and have attained a minimum of B and C grades.

Bachelor of Arts Education - In-service - Content - 4 Semesters

This program is designed for those who already have a diploma in teaching secondary/primary and professional registration as a teacher with more than two years of teaching experience. 

You must also have strong academic achievements in the academic transcripts and Grade 12 certificates with clear evidence of the specific program of study as a major specialisation. 

In addition, you must have a satisfactory report from the Regional Standard Officer of your performance, which must be within the last five years from the date of application. 

Any other qualification and experience deemed appropriate by the Admissions Committee will also be considered.


Bachelor of Business Accounting, Economics, and Management - 8 semesters

The Bachelor of Business program offers three specialisations to choose from, including Accounting, Economics, and Management. 

To be eligible for any of these programs, you must have completed Grade 12 with a minimum GPA of 2.8 from a recognised institution. 

You must also have achieved a B grade or better in Language and Literature or an A grade in Applied English and a C grade in Advanced Mathematics or a B grade in General Mathematics. 

Also, you must achieve a B grade or better in the respective subject specialisation and pass the STAT P/entry test.


Bachelor of Arts/Business (Transit Program for Applicants with Prior Qualifications) - 4 semesters

If you already have a diploma in business/arts from a recognised institution with high GPAs, you can apply for the Bachelor of Arts/Business Transit Program. 

You must also have relevant diploma qualifications that fit into any of the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Business specialisations offered at the university. 

UOG graduates will be given preference.


Diploma in Creative Industries and Creative Arts Education - 8 semesters

The Diploma in Creative Industries is designed for those who wish to pursue a career in the creative industries, such as art, design, fashion, and media. 

To be eligible for this program, you must have completed Grade 12 with a minimum GPA of 2.4 from a recognised institution. 

You must also have achieved a C grade or better in Language and Literature and Advance/General Mathematics and a C grade or better in Science or Humanities courses.

Any other qualification and experience deemed appropriate by the Admissions Committee will also be considered. In-service applicants are exempted from the STAT P/entry test.
