How to Apply for Papua New Guinea (PNG) Visa?

Note that in a recent media release (2022), the Immigration Minister re-launched the Online PNG Entry Visa Application function. Its aim is to fast-track the backlog of visa applications. Only certain groups of visitors are eligible for the online fast-track visa - PNG VISA

PNG entry visa comprises several classes. Find out which one suits you. 

How to apply for PNG visa

Classes of PNG Entry Visas

Tourist (Tour Package)

Relevant documents are provided (eg: A letter from Tour Group)

Group tours, student excursion groups, etc.

Tourist (own itinerary)

Relevant documents are provided (eg: Letter stating the purpose of the visit)

Individuals who wish to sightsee independently, travel, or visit friends, etc.

Easy Visitor Permits (EVP)

EVPs are strictly issued upon arrival in PNG to eligible nationals only, please refer to the list (Visa on arrival eligible country list) at www.immigration.gov.pg.

Visiting Relative

For individuals visiting husbands, wives, or other family members.

Journalist

For reporters, TV presenters, announcers and correspondents.

Yachtsperson

Owner, captain, and crew of a yacht as well as any accompanying spouse and/or children.

Validity of PNG Visa

All visitor entry permits are valid for a single entry stay of sixty (60) days from the date of arrival. Work is prohibited.

Where to apply

Application for all the above classes can be made at any PNG Diplomatic Mission.

Applications for tourist/visiting relative entry permits (for eligible nationals) can also be made on arrival at designated international ports of entry.

For those arriving by yacht, applications can be made at ICD or at the designated international port of entry.

How to apply for PNG Visa

1. Complete the “Application for Entry Permit” (Form 1)

2. Pay the Migration Service Fee (MSF)

3. Provide passport and documentary evidence.

Support documents to attach with the application form

  • Tourist (both tour package and own itinerary):
  • Return/ongoing ticket;
  • Evidence of funds (if required).
  • Visiting Relative:
  • Return/ongoing ticket
  • Evidence of funds (if required).

Journalist's Entry Visa to PNG

  • Return/ongoing ticket
  • Letter from sponsoring organization and list of equipment.
  • Approval from the International Organization Branch of the Department of Foreign Affairs & Immigration must be obtained prior to the entry permit issue.

Yacht Person Entry Visa to PNG

  • Proof of ownership of vessel/ captain’s papers;
  • Ship’s log for details of crewmembers;
  • Customs Clearance form must be completed.
  • Accompanying dependents and crewmembers are issued a Tourist/visitor entry permit upon arrival.

Extension of stay in PNG

Extensions can be granted once only for a maximum of thirty (30) days whilst in PNG.

Applicants for extension should:

  • Complete the “Application to Extend Entry Permit” (Form 4);
  • Pay the MSF as set out in the Summary Table.
  • Provide a letter stating the reasons for the extension.
  • Provide a copy of the return airline ticket.
  • Further applications will not be considered.

How much to pay in PNG Visa fees

All Tourist Visas are free.

Journalist - effective 1 April 2014 the fee is AU$435.00*

EQAO Test Results 2024 for Grade 3, Grade 6, Grade 9 and OSSLT

The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) runs the Grade 3, Grade 6, Grade 9 and OSSLT tests. The assessment of Reading, Writing and Mathematics provides valuable baseline information for educators, schools and parents and guardians. The aim of the assessment result, such as the EQAO Test Results 2024,  is to support children's learning.

This article provides information on the EQAO Test Results for Grade 3, Grade 6, Grade 9 and OSSLT and how to check the individual student's results. More information on the 2024 dates is available on the e EQAO website, through the links.

Test Administration Dates 2024/2025 School Year

 The administration dates for the assessments are as follows:
  • Grade 3 and Grade 6 (Primary- and Junior-Division Assessments): May 7, 2025, to June 11, 2025, with results expected by the end of September 2025.
  • Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics: January 8, 2025, to January 31, 2025, and May 28, 2025, to June 25, 2025, with results reported after each student completes the assessment1.
  • Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT): November 5, 2024, to December 3, 2024, and March 18, 2025, to April 15, 2025, with results expected by the end of January 2025 and May 2025, respectively.

How to check EQAO Results 2024?

EQAO interactive dashboard is the data reporting tool that educators, parents, guardians and schools can use to check the overall performances of students across Ontario. 

It provides all parties in the provinces provides with access to data on students’ achievement and learning perceptions. 
The platform offers the ability to view information at the provincial, school and school board levels in support of students’ learning across Ontario.

Note that this platform is highly interactive, it can take time for the option to appear.

Individual Student EQAO Result 2024

The AQAO results are ready in the fall of the following year. The individual results are sent to schools and students will receive an Individual Student Report from the school to take home.

Note that EQAO Junior and Primary (Grade 3 and Grade 6) results are not used to determine grades on the students' report cards. 

The AQAO results are for supporting students learning.

Diploma in General Nursing in PNG - Australia Awards

Nursing scholars and graduates contribute to quality health outcomes across PNG including in rural and remote communities.

The Australian Government in partnership with the Government of Papua New Guinea will offer scholarships to undertake a Diploma of General Nursing in 2023 at the Lae School of Nursing and Lutheran School of Nursing

This scholarship is for study in PNG (not in Australia). It is open to women and men. 

Applicants must have completed grade 12 or matriculation upgrade prior to 2022.

Women and people living with disability are strongly encouraged to apply.

Diploma in General Nursing in PNG - Australia Awards

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Australia Award Diploma in General Nursing, you must meet the following requirements:

  • be a non-school leaver (i.e. have completed Grade 12 prior to 2021)
  • meet the conditions of entry for the institution(s)
  • be a citizen of PNG and residing in PNG at the time of application
  • not have been convicted of a criminal offence
  • not have been terminated from a previous Australia Awards scholarship or expelled by an Institution for misconduct or academic failure
  • demonstrate a commitment to working as a nurse in PNG including in rural and remote health centres
  • have completed Grade 12 with a minimum GPA of 2.75 and a minimum B grade in Biology, Chemistry and Language and Literature, C grade in Advanced Maths or A grade in General Maths; OR
  • have matriculation upgrade (DODL/FODE) minimum GPA 3.0 and minimum subject grades as above.

Santos Apprentice Program Details 

Santos PNG takes in Apprentices for the following Technical Positions:
  • Process Technician
  • Mechanical Technician
  • Electrical Technician
  • Instrument Technician
Note that this may change depending on the company's needs. 

Apprenticeship Key Responsibilities:

  • Playing a role in the safe and efficient daily operation and maintenance of the facilities.
  • Being an active part of the continuous improvement process for the operation;
  • Operating or maintaining designated areas of the facilities in line with your competency;
  • Working within the facility Permit to Work system and other Santos safety systems;
  • Perform to the high practical and ethical standards required of a world-class operation; and
  • Complete training and assessments required by the NATTB to obtain a trade certificate.


Successful applicants will need to meet the following criteria

  • Have successfully completed Year 12 in the last 5-7 years.
  • Achieved B grades in Year 12 or above in English, Maths with Science being desirable
  • Must have completed a relevant technical vocation program or degree
  • Mechanical Trade applicants require a minimum Grade 12 with a Mechanical/PETT Certificate
  • Electrical Trade applicants require a minimum Grade 12 with an Electrical/PETT Certificate
  • Process Technician Trade applicants require a minimum Grade 12 with an Electrical or Mechanical discipline trade/PETT Certificate
  • Recent university graduates in a technical field such as applied physics, chemistry, metallurgy and engineering who are interested in a technician career pathway are encouraged to apply
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook is preferred
  • Able to self-organize with good time management skills
  • Have a NID card, current passport or be able to obtain a passport
  • Have a current driver or learner’s license or be able to complete a full license to drive within the 2nd year of the program.
