The Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) released the FULL list of School Leavers for all the tertiary institutions in the country on the 23rd of December 2022.

How to download UNRE Selection List 2023

Tips for checking your selection status:
  • 1) Download the PDF file
  • 2) In the 'Find' bar (smartphones) or 'Search bar (PC/Mac)m enter your SLF number
  • 3) Hit 'Enter' to check your selection status. 

If your SLF number does not appear, it means that you are not being selected to UNRE for 2023.

UNRE TESAS List

The PNG University of Natural Resources and Environment (UNRE) will also release its final NSL list for the new academic year on its website. On the list, you'll be able to see your TESAS (HECAS & AES) status, registrations and orientation dates and fees.

Therefore, check with the university for the 2023 non-school leavers selections lists which usually come out in January.

All the selected students are advised to seek your Admission or Acceptance Letter with the tertiary institution that has selected you. ....by now, most institutions should be posting or emailing you your Admission or Acceptance Letters.

As for the School Leavers selections for 2023, here is what DHERST said...

Post-selection is still in progress through the National Admission Pool. Eligible students who did not secure a space on the selection launching day should check your NOAS account on a regular basis to see whether or not you have been sent an offer by an institution. Should you find an offer in your NOAS account, kindly accept or decline the offer by clicking on the relevant button.


DHERST TESAS (HECAS & AES) and HELP Notice

Here is what DHESRT said about the PNG government scholarships, TESAS and HELP...

The TESAS list will be published on the 3rd week of January 2023 and the TESAS Scholarship Offer Letter will be provided to the TESAS awardees by DHERST through your respective NOAS account. If you find your name under a TESAS scholarship (AES or HECAS) category, make sure to access your NOAS account to accept the terms and conditions of your TESAS scholarship.

The Higher Education Loan Programme (HELP) is available to all students regardless of whether you are on TESAS or not. To be eligible for the loan, interested applicants must become registered students by complying with the tertiary institutions' admission or registration policies.

2025 University of Technology Acceptance Lists: Unitech Admissions Update

With the 2025 academic year looming, aspiring students of the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech) eagerly await the release of acceptance lists. Key Dates

Mark your calendars! On 20th December 2024, the Department of Higher Education Research Science and Technology (DHERST) launches the NOAS selection for Grade 12 School Leavers and non-school leavers across all tertiary institutions, including Unitech.

From late December 2024 to early January 2025, Unitech, in collaboration with DHERST, will unveil four distinct acceptance lists for the upcoming year. These include:

  • New Intake (Grade 12 School Leavers) Selection List: Confirms admission for undergraduate studies directly from Grade 12. This will be released by DHERST
  • Online Student Selection List: Identifies chosen students who applied online (non-school leavers and continuing students).
  • Non-School Leavers Selection List: Enumerates accepted undergraduate students who are not school leavers (e.g., mature-aged, transfer students). Released by Unitech.
  • Continuing Students Progression List: Verifies continuation of studies for enrolled students advancing to the next year.
  • Re-enrolling Students: Re-admitted students' names will also be published on the  Students Re-enrollment List.

Unitech ensures easy access by publishing the acceptance lists PDF on their website between late December 2024 and early January 2025. 

To download the relevant list directly, visit the Unitech website and look for the tabs labelled "2025 Acceptance Lists for School Leavers, Non-School Leavers, and Continuing Students" on the homepage.

Staying Updated with Scholarships: TESAS & HELP

Non-school leavers, re-admitted, and continuing students must confirm their Tertiary Education Scholarship Assistance Scheme (TESAS) funding status (AES or HECAS) upon acceptance.

HELP Student Loan Scheme: Unitech encourages eligible students to apply for the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) offered by the PNG government.

Divine Word University (DWU) 2024 Selections Lists PDF Updates for Prospective Students

Divine Word University (DWU), with its diverse campuses across Papua New Guinea, is pleased to provide information regarding the upcoming 2024 Acceptance Lists for various student categories. Similar to the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG), DWU releases four separate lists to inform applicants of their admission status:

  • New Intake Grade 12 School Leavers (SL) Acceptance List: This list announces students accepted for undergraduate studies directly from Grade 12, fulfilling their academic aspirations.
  • Non-School Leavers (NSL) Acceptance List: This list recognizes the diverse paths to higher education by acknowledging students accepted for undergraduate studies who are not categorized as school leavers, including mature-aged learners and transfer students.
  • Continuing Students Progression List: This list confirms the continuation of studies for currently enrolled DWU students who have successfully progressed to the next academic year, ensuring their academic journey continues uninterrupted.

  • For School Leavers: The National Admission Pool's post-selection process is still ongoing. Eligible students who did not receive a place on the initial selection day should regularly check their NOAS account for any offers from institutions. If an offer is present, kindly accept or decline it by clicking the relevant button.

DWU 2024 TESAS & HELP: Students Scholarship Status

Here's what prospective students should know regarding PNG government scholarships, TESAS and HELP:

TESAS:

  • The TESAS list will be published before the academic year starts usually the mid to late January.
  • If awarded a TESAS scholarship (AES or HECAS), you'll receive a scholarship offer letter through your NOAS account.
