2023 Grade 11 selection list for 2024 in Highlands, Southern, Momase and NGI Regions

Do you want to know when the Grade 11 selection lists for the 2024 academic year, particularly for the intake in the Highlands, Southern, Momase, and NGI Regions? In previous years, we accurately predicted that the Grade 11 selection list would be unveiled in mid-December based on Past years' dates. True to our prediction, last year the education department officially released the list on 19th December, 2022.

Past Year Grade 11 Selection Release Dates

PNG Insight anticipates that if all goes well this year (2023), the release of the Grade 11 selection lists for Highlands, Southern, Momase, and NGI Regions will be in mid-December. 

Education Department Grade 11 Selection 2024

The education department has not released the actual date. PNG Insight understands that the exam results were released to the principals and provincial selection committee on the 8th of December 2023. The Grade 11 online selection will take less than a week unlike in past where it took 2 weeks only for the selection.

Grade 11 Selection List Highlands, Southern, Momase and New Guinea Island

PNG Insight is aware that students and parents are eagerly awaiting the Grade 11 selection list for 2024. However, it’s important to note that the results have not yet been released by the Department of Education. The final list of students accepted into Grade 11 will be announced in the coming weeks.  (see the comment below)

Here are the updates of the 2020 Grade 11 Selection list and 2020 Grade 12 selection dates to mark.

Past Online results for secondary and national high schools

• Grade 10: Declared on 10 AM, Tuesday, 3rd Dec 2019 (DONE)
• Grade 12: Declaration Time 10 AM, Monday, 9th Dec 2019 (DONE)

The Grades 10 and 12 students can now access their results online through the My PNG Exam Results website (mypngexamresults.com).

Online results for Flexible Open Distance Education (FODE)

• Grade 10 Declared: 10 AM, Tuesday, 3rd Dec 2019 (DONE)
• Grade 8 Declaration Time: 10 AM, Monday, 9th Dec 2019
• Grade 12 Declaration Time: 10 AM, Monday, 9th Dec 2019

FODE students can ALSO access their results online through the My PNG Exam Results website (mypngexamresults.com).

Grade 11 selection for 2020

• The Grade 10 online result was released last week on the 3rd of December 2019
• General Education Services of the National Education Department, principals and provincial reps met in Port Moresby last week (3rd – 13th December 2019)
• The 2019 Grade 11 selection list for secondary and national high schools in the country will be made available on the education department website. 
• The list is not out at the time of this notice. 
• The selection is done. Everyone will now wait for the GES of the education department to compile the list into provinces and regions. And publish it.
• Grade 11 selection was completed on the 13th Dec 2019 & made available on the 24th Dec 2019 - took nearly two weeks to finalise and publish the Grade 11 selection PDF files on the Edu Dept website.

GRADE 11 SELECTION CONFERENCE

2020 Grade 12 Selection for Tertiary Institutions

• The release of online results for Grade 12 is this Monday the 9th of December 2019. (DONE) 
• The grace period for students to fix the choices on the Online School Leavers Form (SLF) is 3 days. It ended on Thursday 12/12/2019.
• There was a notice of suspension of the Grace Period by 14 hours READ ABOUT IT HERE.
• Students can FINALISE their SLF choices to the 6 PNG universities, colleges and other tertiary institutions during the Grace period. (See the message on the screen below)
• The selection is ONLINE and is completely FREE. And, will take place in auto-selection mode. That means that it will be fast - students will be able to KNOW their selection status, fast.

 Important Announcements from DHERST

• The Grace Period is officially closed
• National Selections will be launched on Friday, 13th December at 1:00pm DONE
• Selection Results will be officially published on Monday 16th December 2019 on the DHERST website, www.dherst.gov.pg
• Students scholarships for 2020 will be communicated to the general public in January 2020

Grade 11 selection - How to find your name

Parents, guardians and relevant stakeholders can download the files and check for their children's names. 

Here is a quicker way to search for the new grade 11 students' names on the PDF file:

1. Download the right regional file

The 2024 Grade 11 selection list is available online at the NDOE (National Department of Education) website. 

There, you'll find both the secondary and National High school selection lists. The link is provided above.

2. Use the PDF search bar

It can take a long time to locate a student's name among the thousands of students. To make it easy, type the name of the student in the search bar and click search. 

If the name is on the selection list for 2024, it will appear in a matter of seconds. Fast.

3. Confirm the name and school

It is important to make sure the selected student from the *feeder* school goes to the right upper secondary school. 

You can do that by cross-checking the selection list or confirming with the school admin.

Grade 11 students things to do before 2024 school year starts...

1. Confirm your name with the school list. Important.

This is an ideal time to correct any spelling errors or misunderstandings. If it means calling the school, the new Grade 11 student and parents may have to do that before school starts. 

Iron out any misunderstanding you may have as the key stakeholder.

2. Visit the school

Many town schools are day schools but it is better to visit your school before the academic year 2024 starts. 

This is vital as parents and you may meet the teachers and school admin, and get information prior to starting school. 

3. Prepare for the academic year

You will need new clothes, uniforms and shoes before p classes commence. But above all, it is a must to have pens (key tools to write with), a ruler, a bag and a calculator (for use in maths lessons). Only buy things you'll need and can think of. Anything you do not need now can be collected later.

4. Prepare your mind

Education is becoming very competitive. If you're a 2024 Grade 11 selected student you must start early by preparing your mind. Set target for the national grade 12 exams and work towards it.  

One thing I must add here is reading - read as many books as you can. Read out loud. Read in silence. Read books.

5. Do the extra

The students whose names are on the 2024 Grade 11 selection list are celebrating. You can celebrate in style too. Do some charity work. Or be a good Samaritan. Do good works in secret and unintentionally. The good you do now will come back to you in amazing ways. Tenfold.
