UCAS Results 2024 - What time do UCAS Results Come out in Northern Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland

When is A Level Results Day 2024?

A level results day for the year 2024 is scheduled for Thursday, August 15, 2024

On this day, students who have taken A-level exams will receive their results, determining their academic achievements and potentially shaping their future educational endeavours.

Prepare for Results Day

Preparing for results day can help alleviate stress and ensure a smooth process. Here are some essential steps to take before the big day:

1. Have your application sign-in details handy: Ensure you have your UCAS application login credentials readily available to access your results promptly.

2. Update your contact details: If necessary, update your contact information in your UCAS application to ensure you receive important notifications and communications regarding your results.

3. Availability on results day: Make sure you are available on the designated results day. It is crucial because only you or someone you have nominated can discuss your application details with UCAS.

4. Check how your exam results are delivered: In most cases, exam results are sent directly to UCAS from the awarding organizations. However, if this is not the case, you may need to send your exam results directly to your chosen universities or colleges.

What Your Status in Your Application Means and What to Do Next

Understanding the status of your UCAS application can provide valuable insights into the outcome of your university or college offers.

Here are some common statuses and their implications:

1. You have replied to your offer(s) and are holding at least one conditional place:

In this case, UCAS is waiting for your chosen university or college to inform them whether you have met the conditions and have been accepted. If you meet the conditions of your offer(s), your place will be confirmed, and you may need to provide details of your results if requested.

2. Congratulations! Your place at [uni name] for [course title] has been confirmed:

If you receive this status, it means you have been firmly accepted by the university or college indicated. Ensure you review the details carefully within your application and expect to receive further instructions from the institution.

3. You are in Clearing. Your Clearing number is [Clearing number]:

If you find yourself in this situation, it means you are not currently holding any offers from universities or colleges.

You may explore alternative courses through the Clearing service provided by UCAS. However, it's important to note that you can only utilize Clearing once you have received your exam results.

4. [Uni name] has offered you an unconditional place with substantial changes to your original choice:

This status indicates that one of your chosen universities or colleges has offered you an alternative course due to not meeting the conditions of your original offer. Review the details of the changed course offer in your application, and if it's your firm choice, you can accept it immediately. Otherwise, wait for your insurance choice to confirm before making a decision.

5. At least one of your universities or colleges has offered you an unconditional place with substantial changes to your original choice:

This status implies that you have received responses from your choices, and at least one of them is offering a changed course option.

Assess the details of the alternative course offer in your application, and if either offers suits your preferences, you can accept it within five days.
