UoG New Intake Acceptance Lists 2025 Information

The University of Goroka (UoG) publishes its annual acceptance lists in two instalments each year. In 2021 and 2022, the University announced the continuing students' status before they departed for the Christmas holidays. This practice eased the burden on UoG administration during the busy registration period at the start of the academic year.

2025 UoG Non-school Leavers and School Leavers List

Firstly, non-school leavers apply for a place through the University. Subsequently, the University of Goroka (UoG) makes the selection and publishes it on its website. This is entirely the University's responsibility.

Each faculty within UoG finalises the non-school leavers' selections, which are then submitted to the University Council for approval. Once approved, the list is published as a PDF document on the UoG website.

Secondly, school leavers' applications are processed through the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST). Therefore, DHERST is responsible for generating the listing for all tertiary institutions in Papua New Guinea, including UoG. DHERST will then publish this list.

UOG 2025 Acceptance List for Non-School Leavers NOAS Status Update

The final list for non-school leavers' admission to the University of Goroka (UoG) in 2025 is typically released early in January. Please note that there will be no supplementary or reserve list. As announced by UoG last year, the admission lists for the UoG-Enga and Sepik Campuses will be uploaded to the university website one week after the publication of the UoG Goroka campus list.

You can access the selection list on the UoG website at www.unigoroka.ac.pg. Acceptance letters will be mailed to successful applicants in good time before the start of the 2025 academic year. We encourage you to make any necessary arrangements as soon as you confirm your name on the university acceptance list.

UoG Registration and Orientation dates 

Note that his sequence of events is based on last year's schedule. Please, contact UoG for the 2025 registration and orientation details. You should also have the exact dates on your acceptance letter. 

• January – February: Students begin arriving on campus.
• January: Deadline for payment.
• February: Orientation for all new students.
• February: Registration for all new intakes.
• February: Registration for continuing students.
• February–March: Late registration closes.
• February: Semester One lectures commence.

2026 Grade 11 Selection List for Southern Region, Highlands Region, Momase Region and New Guinea Islands Region

This post provides an update on the current situation regarding the selection of students for Grade 11 in high and secondary schools for the 2026 academic year. The Department of Education has not yet released the 2026 Grade 11 Selection List for the Southern Region, Highlands Region, Momase Region, and New Guinea Islands Region in PDF format on its website. 

Grade 11 Selection List 2025/2026 Updates

The Grade 11 Selection Lists for all regions, including National High Schools, were observed to be released before Christmas every year. These lists became available two weeks after the Grade 11 Selection Committee concluded their online selection.

Grade 11 Selection 2026 Updates

The Grade 11 Selection List has not yet been officially released by the National Department of Education. However, it has been noted that some school principals, who have early access to their respective school selection lists, have displayed the information on school notice boards and, in some cases, circulated it through social media platforms such as Facebook.

This development indicates that the official national release of the 2026 Grade 11 selection lists by the Department of Education is imminent. Parents, students, and stakeholders are therefore advised to remain patient and rely on formal communication channels for the confirmed and complete release.

Once officially published, the 2026 Grade 11 selection lists for National Schools of Excellence and Secondary Schools across Papua New Guinea will be made available by the PNG Education Department, including downloadable PDF copies through recognised information platforms such as PNG Insight.

Further updates will be provided as soon as the Department makes the official announcement.

When will the 2026 selection list come out?

The official announcement of the release date for the Grade 11 selection will be made by the Education Secretary. PNG Insight will also provide updates as soon as we get the date. Typically, the Grade 11 Selection List PDF for each region is released two weeks after the examination committee has made the selections. Look for the release around mid-December.

How Past Grade 11 Selection Lists Are Published

Past Publication Method

In previous years, the Grade 11 selection lists were published in PDF format and arranged by region. There was no need to log in; users simply downloaded the PDF file and searched for their name. The regions included:

UNITECH Selection: Schools Ranked By Number of School Leavers Selected

The University of Technology (UNITECH) has done a great job of letting parents and sponsors know who was accepted into the university. They released the list of accepted students quickly. This shows that UNITECH is committed to making the admission process smooth.

UNITECH also did a good job of selecting students from a variety of schools. They accepted almost 500 students from 95 different schools. This shows that UNITECH is open to students from all over the country.

UNITECH recognized the top 10 schools that produced the most accepted students. They also recognized Menyamya and Okapa Secondary Schools for sending two students each to UNITECH. This shows that UNITECH appreciates the good work of these schools.
