How to Apply to Arawa School of Nursing as a Non-School Leaver and Grade 12 School Leaver

Applying as a Grade 12 School Leaver

1. Utilise the DHERST Login Portal:

As a Grade 12 school leaver, the application process for nursing colleges in Papua New Guinea (PNG) is facilitated through the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science, and Technology (DHERST) login portal. 2. Choose Nursing College as Your First Choice:

When selecting your preferred institutions and programs, make sure to prioritise nursing college as your first choice if you aspire to become a healthcare worker in PNG.

GPA for Nursing Colleges in PNG

The GPA (Grade Point Average) for nursing colleges in PNG adheres to the guidelines set by the DHERST. The minimum threshold GPA for entry is 2.0.

However, achieving a GPA above the threshold is advisable, as it increases your chances of being selected.

While GPA is an essential factor, consistency across all subjects is crucial. Exceptional performance in most subjects may be undermined if certain subject grades, such as English and Literature, are significantly lower.

Therefore, maintaining consistent grades in all subjects is essential.

Government Scholarship (TESAS)

For students aiming to secure the government scholarship known as TESAS (Tertiary Education School Assistance Scheme), it is recommended to maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
